Oklahoma Legislature Overturns Veto on H.B. 2298
Governor Stitt’s veto on H.B. 2298 was overturned by the House and Senate. The bill retires the requirement that NPs maintain a supervisory agreement with a physician after completing at least 6,240 hours of practice for legend and schedule III-V medications. The bill did not alter the existing state prohibition on prescribing schedule II medications, and that limitation remains in place. The law mandates the allopathic and osteopathic physician boards to establish standards that must be included as part of the supervisory agreement and determine the fees that a physician may charge. NPs should continue to practice under the existing law until regulations are finalized. Members can watch their emails for updates on additional information.

Michigan Full Practice Authority (FPA) Bills Still in Play as Legislators Return to Lansing
Following the Memorial Day recess and the annual Mackinac Policy Conference, Michigan lawmakers are back in session and legislating, including considering next steps for FPA bills House Bill 4399 (H.B. 4399) and Senate Bill 268 (S.B. 268)! H.B. 4399 as introduced has already seen strong bipartisan support and robust supportive testimony in the House Health Policy Committee, while S.B. 268 awaits a hearing in Senate Regulatory Affairs. AANP members can stay tuned and watch their email for updates and opportunities to take action on this legislation as the 2025 legislative session continues.

Nurses holding a multistate RN license can practice in other NLS states/territories, without obtaining additional RN licenses, while maintaining their primary state of residence. The multistate license is issued in a nurse’s Primary State of Residence (PSOR), but is recognized across state lines, like a driver’s license. Contact us for more information on how to save you money while getting you licensed in more states!
